Hello moderators / webmasters -

What is the policy or procedure MSDb has in regard to movies listed under their foreign title?

For example, if one were to search for the Clint Eastwood movie "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly", it will not appear in the search results. This is because it's listed in its original Italian title "Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo".

There are a fair number of films listed this way (even a few American and British movies listed in foreign titles).

I await to hear your judgement / decision / ruling on this before listing any further titles.

Hey there, CaptainOT! I've added "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly" as an alternative title to "Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo". It should now pop up under the search engine when you search for "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly". MSDB keeps the original title as the main title but for many titles, we need to manually add extra alternative titles. If you or anyone finds a title that's problematic & isn't popping up when searched, please let us know so we can correct it. I've also noticed that some titles (it seems mostly TV series) require quotations around the name in order to pop up on the search engine. If anyone finds a title like that, please let us know. Both issues are easily fixed thankfully but we need your help to figure out which titles are in need of editing. Thank you for bringing up a very important issue! We've been discussing a better solution to this issue that wouldn't require manual editing but at least we have a fix 😊
